Finally number 1 choices are here!
Vampire – Interview With The Vampire
Werewolf – The Company Of Wolves
Witch – The Witches Of Eastwick
These three are life stories, they follow the main character(s) and use the supernatural as a way to show how their lives have shaped. Interview With The Vampire the main
character tells the story simply of his life since he was turned into a vampire; The Company Of Wolves the werewolf is used as a metaphor for this girl turning into a woman; The Witches Of Eastwick follows three bored women who just happened to have magic that works when they are together showing their bond as friends.
They satirise the supernaturals perfectly. Interview With The Vampire we have the Vampire Theatre “Vampires pretending to be humans pretending to be vampires”, “How avant-garde”. Company of Wolves is heavily inspired by Little Red Riding Hood has all the elements but tells it’s own story(ies) of the big bad wolf. The Witches Of Eastwick drinking margaritas and dreaming about the perfect man, not knowing they being a coven and the voodoo ritual using kitchen appliances, hilarious.
The characters are very well written and we can see the directions their lives go and the supernatural is not the most important aspect but adds depth to the themes and taken advantage of perfectly.
That’s it! On a side note Dark Shadows will be out on DVD soon, which combines Vampires, Witches, Werewolves and other supernaturals.
