Tribes

Tribes absolutely blew away The Leadmill in Sheffield earlier this week with their selection of dark edged pop/rock sing-alongs.
Right from the off with opener ‘Whenever’, this was one rowdy, raucous fun-packed hour and fifteen minutes of great music. These guys have bags of stage presence with murmurs of a likeness to Nirvana and The Pixies circulating amongst myself and peers.
In terms of modern music, I guess they’re going to be compared to The Vaccines for their catchy choruses and overall British pop/rock vibe, but for me Tribes are a lot darker and with a slight 90’s feel about them which I really like.
Highlights for me were ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Sappho’ and ‘Corner Of An English Field’ with ‘Coming Of Age’ surely set to become a real anthem.
A mention should also go to Sharks and The Brute Chorus who were both excellent on the night.
Tribes have a number of shows coming up over the next few months including summer festivals, for dates click here
